Seeking Sponsors to Help Enact Law across North Dakota
Currently seeking sponsors in Bismarck, Jamestown, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, Williston and Dickinson to enact Medical Cannabis laws for patients of North Dakota who are denied the right to alleviate painful, suffering illnesses by unconstitutional State and Federal policies. Sponsors will be required to assist in collecting 20,000 + legitimate verifiable signatures across North Dakota to get a voter initiative into 2010 and 2012 elections, or until its passed. Individuals must be 18 years of age and be a legal resident to assist in this necessary change. The use of cannabis as medicine is a public health issue; it should not be part of the war on drugs. Nearly half of all doctors with opinions support legalizing cannabis as a medicine, and over 80 state and national health care organizations -- including the American Medical Association, American Nurses Association, American Public Health Association, the American College of Physician, and The New England Journal of Medicine -- support granting qualified patients immediate and unrestricted legal access to medical cannabis.
Reply and Act Now, you or someone you love may benefit from this law. Don’t let government continue spending:
1. $44.1 billion per year in government expenditure on enforcement of medical cannabis prohibition.
2. $2.9 billion of the federal expenditure on drug prohibition is due to marijuana prohibition.
3. In 2002, cannabis arrests cost state and local governments almost $7.6 billion. In this current economic crisis, taxpayers deserve the right to not have the government waste money on frivolous cases regarding cannabis.
The revenue from “sin taxation” and “standard income/sale taxation” to provide estimates of the total tax revenue that would accrue from a regime in which medical cannabis are legal but taxed and regulated similarly to alcohol and tobacco.
(The income estimate is $32.7 billion annually; for medical cannabis alone)
