I'll send this in to the newspapers later today. Assuming that my back will stop hurting long enough for me to get some sleep.

Another state shows compassion for its residents! This week New Jersey became the 14th state to enacted medical marijuana laws. Restrictive as they may be, the laws are still in place.
I’m amazed how some of the laws in a few of the medical marijuana states have to continue the restrictions on access and conditions such as allowing it only for “terminally” ill patients, but not chronically ill patients. However there is no problem feeding these chronic sufferers Opiate pain killers and many other harmful chemical drugs.
Why wouldn’t we make it available to those who suffer from chronic pain and disease, who are not dying? It may allow them to take fewer chemical Opiates and live a little longer. Imagine, it may give them quality of life!
Why wouldn’t we allow our doctors to study it and recommend it for any reason they see fit. We need more doctors studying this plant anyway, in every way. There is a lot of information available from the people who have been keeping records of the entire process, the dispensaries and co-ops in the states which have enacted laws before us. Many of these places have been keeping records of which strains helps which ailments the most. They have been acting as cannabis pharmacists, and learning from questionnaires dealing with strains and ailments.
There are 14 legal medical marijuana states now, and more that 20 other states with initiatives and legislation coming up this year. They include everything from medical marijuana too complete legalization. It’s nice to know that most people understand the truth about the war on cannabis in all forms, and think it’s wrong.
A group of ND voters are seeking sponsors for a Voter Initiative to create medical cannabis laws in North Dakota. The Initiative can be read online and downloaded at medicalcannabisnd.proboards.com and people can sign up to be a sponsor there as well. We all know we have a compassionate population in ND. Many of us do our best to bring that out in others as well with truthful information.
When ND enacts medical marijuana laws, we shouldn’t continue to give them such special and restrictive guidelines that don’t apply to much more harmful drugs that are prescribed to us every day. Marijuana is safer than any other drug and medicine is medicine as I see it. We have a chance to help people and we should!
