Strong North Dakotans Need A Strong President!
Dear Editor,
I remember as a child, growing up in North Dakota and my Grandfather being a “staunch” Republican Conservative. He talked about things like the government sticking it’s nose in people’s “personal” business and it’s control over the family farm and a lot about taxes. My Grandfather was a very self sufficient and independent man. As were his friends and neighbors. My Grandfather was Guy Randall and he was a Charter member of the NDSA as well as the 50 Years in The Saddle organization. These were very good and independent men. This I remember from the 60’s. My parents moved in 1970 and we lived in WA. I was ten.
I moved back to Dickinson in 1997 with my wife and children. We were there for seven years, when we moved back to WA for family for two years. In Nov. of ’06 we moved to Crosby, via Dickinson.
We didn’t really care which town in ND that we bought a house in, because we knew what “North Dakotans” were like and we love it here. I am finally home and my wife and children consider it home as well.
My point here is that “we”, as North Dakotans, have always believed that we are “strong”, “self sufficient” and “independent” people. We don’t want the government to be “dictating” what we can do in our “personal” lives nor to have too much say in our “States” rights and processes.
The “only” Presidential Candidate this year that fits with our independence and will “by example” lead us back on track to a stronger, safer and more prosperous America, is Republican Congressman Dr. Ron Paul. We need a strong president. Strong enough “not” to take powers he is not entitled to.
Sincerely,
Del Snavely
