Hi, I'm Del Snavely and I live here in ND and I'm the board's administrator. I've been working for medical cannabis reform here since 2006.
As a legal medical cannabis patient in Washington State I was amazed to see the diversity of illness' that cannabis can help. In 2006 I gave up being able to use my medicine and moved back home to ND with my family, with the goal of helping to enact medical cannabis laws in ND. I started an organization called the Medical Cannabis Association of North Dakota and registered the name with the state, as well as incorporating the organization. Unfortunately, with my limited resources, I had to dissolve the non-profit corporation, since I am disabled and could not afford to keep it going on my own.
I have written many letters to the editor, and have been published in many newspapers, such as The Fargo Forum, Minot Daily, Grand Forks Herald, Jamestown Sun, Bismarck Tribune and the Crosby Journal. I have also had two full articles in the Minot Daily and Crosby Journal. I continue to write LTE's and will not stop until North Dakota adopts medical cannabis laws. We are compassionate people here, but I believe we're all too often afraid of what our neighbors think.
I can't believe how many people agree with cannabis as medicine and believe it should be legal here, yet these people are unable or unwilling to contribute to the cause. Of the hundreds of people I have talked to here about medical cannabis, there are very few people I have ever talked to who don't believe medical cannabis should be legal in ND.
They say one man can change the World, but what I've done so far just isn't enough, so I created this forum to begin discussion and gain support for medical cannabis in North Dakota.
I'll be adding information slowly. I would appreciate your input and added topics as well. Together we can make medical cannabis legal in North Dakota!
